The Ibanez JEM90HAM is among the models produced to mark the 90^th anniversary of Hoshino Ghaki Mother Company in Japan. It is produced under the JEM Prestige Series, the signature series of guitar maestro Steve Vai. Other models produced for the anniversary editions are PGM90HAM, JS90HAM and JPM90HAM.

The model features a blue-green metallic texture finish with a mirrored aluminium pickguard. The guitar comes with a certificate of authenticity for each of the guitar sold.

Sound Quality (4/5)

Like all guitar under the Prestige Series, the JEM90HAM is no different. The JEM series guitars, the body is made of American Basswood. The sound qualities are truly amazing. Combined with Steve’s signature Evolution pickups, the guitar is a rocker ready to explode. The 5-way lever controls adds dimension to the sound capability but you will notice that the guitar is not meant to cradle pop songs. Its crunching metal when you hit the distortion pedal and mean baby when put it in clean tone. All in all, the guitar in a companion both in studio and for live gigs.

Reliability / Durability (5/5)

The guitar comes equipped with the original GOTOH machine heads and locked frets. Initial tuning would cause headache but the tuning would definitely last a great deal. Then comes the durability part; this guitar has endured numerous fall and fortunately, no major repairs are needed except for broken strings.

Impressions (5/5)

Great deal for the price considering it is under the prestige series plus it is a limited edition guitar signed by Steve Vai. Pretty sure all of the JEM90HAM are fully sold and the only way of getting it is through ebay, so the price validity can’t really be determined.
